Dear Abington Choral Club Member/Supporter,
The last 19 months have been difficult for everyone, including our choral club. We are excited to once again be rehearsing on our familiar Wednesday evenings. While the 40 meeting regularly is not the full group, the Pavilion of the Abington Art Center on Meetinghouse Road has become our adopted second home. We will continue to follow Montgomery County recommendations for safe operation and hope to be able to welcome additional returning members in the Spring for an even more “normal” singing experience.
Our focus now is returning our operation to revenue positive. Those that led the organization for the past years set us up to successfully navigate a situation like the current pandemic with a strong contingency financing resource. We have now taxed that resource heavily and need our loyal members and patrons to offer the support needed to keep us revenue positive while we struggle to get back to rehearsals in the Abington School facilities that graciously hosted our rehearsals for years at no cost, and return to in person concerts where individuals can listen and donate following the concert. But until that happens, we need your help.
Many of you stepped up last year with over $8000 in patron donations and we are making the request this year for patrons to continue and if possible increase their contributions. We would want you to do what you can do.
Members and friends, we are asking you to make voluntary contributions, no matter how small, to the Abington Choral Club, P.O. Box 123, Wyncote 19095. Since we are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, contributions would be eligible to be deducted from your federal taxes. While the amount of funds received would be important, it is also key to maintain a large representation of chorus members who choose to donate, regardless of the amount, because that is valuable as we work to seek outside grant sources to supplement our revenue. With gratitude for your consideration,
Alan Wendell, president
